Thanks for this fantastic essay Victoria. Your download, and reminder to me, to stop, listen and ask for signs is very valuable. I have got much better at stopping and listening but, reading this, I realize I have gotten away from asking for a sign. Sure, I do it sometimes but consistency is key! I appreciate this nudge from your download.
You're welcome, Donna! One of the things I love about reading posts here on Substack and other platforms (especially podcasts), is how many reminders I receive. I'm glad to hear that you received a nudge from my post. Personally, I was reminded recently of how life is ALWAYS responding to us, especially to the questions we ask. The woman who was talking about it is author, Cynthia Sue Larson, and she suggested that we focus on asking questions in which we want to hear the answers. This was a great nudge for me to be more conscious of my thoughts.
I certainly can relate to your article -- especially the intellect, er, um, Monkey! The thing was that in my early adult years, the Monkey was not always there! LOL, I can joke about it now, but at the time, I felt like I truly was just wandering around in a world I knew nothing about. Thank goodness I found my True Self. Thanks for your wisdom.
This resonates today. Luke you said, the carefully laid plans of mice and monkey mind aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be!
I used to spend so much time trying to bring about a certain thing and then it all felt like a waste. I now know that what that I was coming up with was all created in my head without divine input. How could I expect it to be as good, if it came only from what that limited organ between my ears could conceive of?
Beautifully put, Tim. Yes, the best laid plans can often become the worst nightmare! However, we learn to appreciate how good it can get when we drop to the heart, hear that inner nudge and follow it after so many missteps.

Yes, I have found it very helpful to question my thoughts to check if they are true because usually I’m creating some kind of story about something🤣

Glad to hear you found your True Self. There is nothing better, and it’s one of the greatest benefits of getting older.

"I’m truly enjoying the mystery and wonder of a life I no longer try and control" precious!
Thanks Ken!
