Thank you for sharing your story, Victoria, and my condolences for your losses. I'm inspired by the ways that you've grown and learned about how to best prepare your sons to handle the inevitable. I lost my mom in April after a long decline. I've repeatedly been gobsmacked by how complicated it's been to handle her affairs, even though she supposedly had everything in order. I didn't know the questions to ask her during her life to assess her situation, but now I know how to better prepare so my husband and son would never have to go through this. This knowledge is a blessing, as you well point out. Perhaps your story will help others bypass learning this lesson the hard way.

Reading this has brought some tears, as I currently watch my mothers life force decline. I feel grief and compassion for both ailing parents, but now in a caring role, it has also opened up my heart and increased my sensitivity in so many ways. Thsnkyou I really appreciate this read this morning 🙌
